Hurricane Harvey might have wreaked havoc on Houston and surrounding areas a month ago, but that doesn’t mean Harvey’s impact isn’t still being felt. Just aska dog Jennie, a sweet 10-month-old Bulldog who was tied up during the storm and left for dead.
In a state of panic, a little dog Jennie chewed off her own leg to save her life. This sweet survivor will be arriving in New York soon, thanks to non-profit organization Rescue Dogs Rock NYC.
But there is one problem: Jennie may be on her way to freedom, finally. But she doesn’t have a foster home to go to when she arrives in New York. Surely given the traumatic experience she went through, we can find a loving foster home for her to recuperate in!
Jennie has three legs and is about 40 pounds. She may be deaf but Rescue Dogs Rock NYC is unsure. Jennie loves other dogs and tolerates cats.
Rescue Dogs Rock will pay for all foster expenses. All you have to do is cuddle up with this sweet girl and give her the life she deserves! Jennie is gorgeous and looks like she’d be a great friend!
If you don’t live near New York, you can still help animals just like Jennie by opening up your home as a foster.
There are 70 million stray animals living in the U.S with only about six to eight million cats and dogs of that 70 million entering the nation’s 3,500 shelters every year.
Given the staggering numbers of the pet overpopulation crisis, one of the best ways to help is to foster animals through your local animal shelter.
Each organization will have their own set of requirements and paperwork for becoming a pet foster parent. So, you will need to check with the shelter you want to foster for.
Knowing you’ve given a needy animal a safe haven is truly a rewarding experience!
