Sadly there seem to be more and more cases of animal abuse, but for someone to blatantly do this to an animal is just not right and should be dealt with in a definable way, and as far as we are concerned that should be as severe as possible!
This guy was caught on camera, so there was no way out of what he had done, no escape and certainly, no excuses either, what kind of person it takes to do these things is just a bad thought!
Animal supporters and advocates have been waiting nearly two weeks to get their answers to questions, finally, they do!
Animal Advocate, Sarah Sharpe, said: – “Finally, something is being done because there are lots of abuse cases that kind of stand there stale. This is not okay in our community and we’re going to stand for justice for these animals”
During the whole thing, Sarah Sharpe has really contributed to the distribution of a viral picture, you can see in it the 34-year-old Kashif Watkins and the extent of what he was doing to his dog!
After some twelve days the charges have been finally filed against the guy, now the process of justice can begin, the wheels of justice have started to roll!
Albeit after Sarah had undertaken to do her own investigation of the incident!
“I’ve interviewed neighbors, people that live right around that neighborhood that have viewed multiple incidents that happened with this man beating that dog. I’ve turned all the evidence over to the animal cruelty officers, the humane society, and the police.”
The documents from the court say this:
(He)…“cruelly beat his dog after the dog got loose and was running in the street”
It goes on to say that he carried the dog, in a terrible fashion, by the back of its neck, all the way to his residence.
Sarah was deeply invested in bringing justice where justice was deserved and helped organize the protests outside the guy’s apartment last Friday.
“The neighbors felt like their voices weren’t being heard. So we wanted to let those older people in that neighborhood know that ‘hey, we’re listening to you. We’re here to stand up when things like this happen. You might be ignored, but we’re not ignoring you and we’ll be here. We’ll protest.’ That’s why we protested right on those sidewalks right outside of that apartment building.”
Sarah is now working on next steps, having been so efficient with what she has done so far, what great work, now she is making sure that the dog is in a safe environment and well looked after.
“Somebody knows where this dog is at. That’s all we want. We don’t want trouble for anybody. We just want the dog safe. That’s it.”
On a court affidavit, it’s shown that Watkins is charged and is set to go to court next Monday, after almost three weeks from when the video was first filmed, at least now action in happening, we wonder why it took so long!
Let’s really hope that this doggie receives the justice that he deserves!
